The oldest public university in the state of Victoria, the University of Melbourne was established in 1853 and is a member of the prestigious Group of Eight universities. The primary campus of the university is in Parkville within Melbourne city while other campuses are found at Southbank, Dookie, Burnley, Cresswick and Werribee in regional Victoria.
