Overall experience
The campus is excellent and academics is at par with the best in the world. Before coming here I had heard a lot of negative things about the windy, unpleasant weather of Lancaster city. After coming here, I didn't find that to be exactly true. Lancaster's location is convenient for visiting the Lake District for recreation. The male to female ratio is approximately 1:1, and there a large international student population that makes it a vibrant and multicultural campus. The social life on campus is great and a lot of the bars on campus usually have theme nights throughout the year Along with this, there are many society organised events, so you will have very little to complain about socializing and night life in Lancaster university.
Selection process and gaining admission
It's not too difficult to get admission in any of the PG courses, if you have average (and above) scores in your undergrad. MBA is the only exception, where they have a high seats:application ration. SO, if you are planning to get admission in MBA, it might be a little competitive. Personally, I was an average student but had an aptitude in computer science so was easily admitted to M.Sc. course in the same.
Funding and scholarships
Funding and scholarships are very limited, and highly competitive. So, it's not advisable to depend on them entirely if you are planning to take admission here. Its better to have alternate financing options available at hand.
Job prospects
Job prospects are not very good in UK currently. The market is slow for past two years and with a steady supply of fresh graduates and few opportunities available, maybe UK is not the right market for exploring job opportunities. Go to Lancaster to gain quality knowledge on the subject/stream of your choice. There might be better opportunities in your home country, or some other part of the planet. A Lancaster degree will really helps you get through with that.
