Types of courses

A basic bachelor's degree takes 3 years to complete and courses of study at this level are provided by both the public and private education sectors. The private higher educational institutions that offer certificate, diploma and undergraduate degree programmes are branch campuses of foreign universities, private universities and private colleges. Some of these institutions also offer postgraduate degree courses.

If you want a professional qualification, there are private educational institutions in Malaysia that prepare students to sit for external professional examinations, set by various international examination bodies.

There are plenty of educational institutions and language centres in Malaysia that offer language preparatory courses, especially to prepare international students to sit for internationally-accepted English qualifications such as TOEFL and IELTS.
