Course summary This programme is designed to provide students with practical "hands-on" experience through a comprehensive and practical curriculum of cutting edge research and studies in food science and nutrition. Students have access to a variety of laboratory equipments here at UCSI University, under the directions and guidance of qualified professors and academicians, as well as experienced lab technologists. The curriculum enables students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the food manufacturing industries, government agencies, colleges and universities as well as research laboratories. In addition, it also equips them with good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in teams, to solve multidisciplinary problems.

International admissions requirements Applicants must have SPM / ’O’ Levels (Science stream) should have minimum 5 credits, inclusive of Maths and 2 Sciences subjects; STPM / ’A’ Levels (Science stream) should have minimum 2 Principals in Chemistry, Biology and Maths / Physics; UEC (Science stream) should have min 5 credits, inclusive of Chemistry, Biology and Maths / Physics, or minimum 4 credits, inclusive of Maths and 2 Sciences subjects; SAM applicants should have minimum average of 60 per cent in 5 subjects, inclusive of Chemistry, Biology and Maths / Physics; CPU applicants should have minimum average of 60 per cent in 6 subjects, inclusive of Chemistry, Biology and Maths / Physics; HSC applicants should have minimum average of 60 percent in Chemistry, Biology, Maths / Physics; Local Matriculation (Science based) applicants should have a minimum CGPA 2.8; International Baccalaureate (Science based) applicants should have 26/42 from 6 subjects; Diploma / Advance Diploma / Degree / equivalent are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, UCSI Foundation in Science with pass in all subjects. English requirements: distinction (A1 or A2) in SPM / UEC English, MUET Band 5, or a score of 213 (Computer based) / 550 (Written based) / 79 - 80 (Internet based) in TOEFL, or Band 5.5 in IELTS. If English Language requirements are not fulfilled, additional English modules must be taken at UCSI.
