Course summary This programme is accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), United Kingdom, beginning 2002. At present, the University of Malaya programme is the only one outside the British Isles (United Kingdom and Ireland) to receive such recognition. Technological advances and developments in medicine, particularly in radiology, oncology (radiotherapy) and nuclear medicine, have created a demand for qualified medical physicists to manage and monitor the medical usage of radiation in all its forms.
International admissions requirements Students should have a bachelor's degree with Honours or equivalent in physical sciences; or a bachelor's degree with Honours or equivalent in a programme of study consisting of courses in physical sciences; or a bachelor's degree or equivalent in physical sciences and at least three years working experience in the relevant field; or an equivalent qualification approved by the Senate from time to time. They should have at least IELTS Band of 6 or TOEFL score of 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction.
