TAFE NSW - South Western Sydney Institute is a leading provider of nationally recognised vocational education and training. The Institute encompasses nine colleges, including Industry Centres of Excellence in Building and Construction, Engineering, Hospitality, Hairdressing, Horticulture, Transport, Telecommunications, and is one of Australia's largest TAFE Institutes.

As part of the Technical and Further Education Commission of New South Wales (TAFE NSW), the largest provider of vocational training and education in Australia, the South Western Sydney Institute is owned and operated by the New South Wales state government. The institute has proven quality standards with an ISO - 9001: 2000 certification and registration under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). The institute has been recognised with an Australian Business Excellence Award at progress level in the Western Sydney Industry Export and Tourism Awards. It was also named as the Australian Training Provider of the Year and decorated with two NSW Premier's Public Sector Gold Awards.

The Institute also offers a number of University pathway courses which are linked to several Universities including UWS.
