The Manchester College was formed through the merger of City College, Manchester and the Manchester College of Arts and Technology (MANCAT). The College’s strengths lie in its highly qualified staff, a cutting-edge learning environment, quality equipment, security and comfort.

The College offers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses designed to help the students reach their full potential. The Manchester College aims to lead curriculum innovation, professional development and employer engagement, and works collaboratively with existing schools and the new academies.

The College is constantly developing its portfolio of higher education qualifications, open & distance learning options, as well as a range of international education programs.

The Institution is involved in the establishment of seven new industry-linked academies, designed to provide education and encourage students to learn directly from industry experts. The aim of the academies is to lead innovation in learning to a world class standard.

The College has a variety of projects and partnerships in place to support the community in the development of new skills, opportunities and cultural enrichment.

  • The college’s Openshaw campus holds a ‘Food Futures Silver Certificate’ for its commitment to the values and vision of Food Futures and contribution to many of its objectives.
  • The college’s nursery in Harpurhey has been awarded the National Day Nurseries Association’s Quality Assurance Award at level 3, which is the highest grade attainable.
