University for the Creative Arts Overview

 The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist art and design education.

 UCA was formed through the union of The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College (SIAD) and the Kent Institute of Art & Design (KIAD) and operates out of five campuses in Surrey and Kent - Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester.

 With a heritage of 150 years, UCA boasts of having produced successful alumni of designers, artists, communicators, graphic designers, fashion designers and Oscar-winning animators.  UCA currently has around 7000 students studying across approximately 80 different pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate levels courses in the areas of art, design, architecture, media and communication.

 As a specialist university, we have created a unique community for our students, where like-minded people can share in the creative process and inspire one another.

 Creative arts education at UCA combines traditional and contemporary disciplines providing access to industry level art and design facilities and mentoring from teams of professional artists, designers and teachers. UCA is an innovative, outward-looking University with a thriving student community of artists, providing many opportunities for collaboration. UCA staff, researchers and visiting lecturers are experts in their fields and are active practitioners providing strong links to industry.
