The University of Dundee (University) is one of Scotland's premier educational institutions offering undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees in a wide variety of subjects. The University traces its origins to 1881, when University College, Dundee was established. The University became an independent institution in 1967 and since then has made rapid strides in offering high-quality education to students from all around the world. The University has four colleges, which are divided into a number of schools, each catering to a specific area of study:

The College of Art, Science & Engineering
The College of Arts & Social Sciences
The College of Life Sciences
The College of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing

These colleges offer courses covering a variety of subject areas such as life sciences, literature, creative arts, business, accountancy, computing, law, engineering, medicine, dentistry etc. The University has about 17,000 students and 3,000 staff-members.

Location
Dundee is situated in between the mountains and the sea and offers easy access by road to other cities in Scotland like Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Students wishing to travel to London can opt for air-travel or use the train service from Dundee to London.
