Department info: The School

The University of Southampton is considered to be one of the research hubs of the UK. It is a member of the prestigious Russell Group and continues to live up to its high reputation by offering a challenging and invigorating academic experience to all its students. Southampton's distinguished heritage can be traced as far back as 1862; it has come a long way since and currently delivers a wide range of courses through more than 20 academic schools.

The School of Social Sciences offers a variety of internationally recognised undergraduate courses. The School of Social Sciences is located in the Murray Building on the University's main campus at Highfield. The School currently offers 18 undergraduate  programmes.

The School offers tremendous support to international students and has a tradition of welcoming students from India to their ever-growing community of social scientists. The University works closely with professional representatives in India who guide students about studying at Southampton and living in the UK.
