Program modules Year 1: Engineering mathematics; digital electronics 1; circuit theory; electric and magnetic fields 1; analogue electronics 1; systems, signals and control 1; computer architecture and programming; engineering science; engineering applications and design. Year 2: Engineering mathematics 2; software design concepts; computer organisation; communications; electric and magnetic fields 2; systems, signals and control 2; analogue electronics 2; signal transmission; numerical computing and statistics; structure and properties of materials; digital electronics 2; electrical power engineering; engineering applications and design. Year 3: Students take 10 modules, each of which consist of about 20 1-hour lectures with associated tutorials; students also complete an individual project and undertake group design investigations.
