Course summary The taught part of the course cover both technical aspects of computing and data analysis as well as the broad themes of behavioural psychology, identity management and the social/legal/ethical framework of biometric systems and computer crime investigation within the social sciences; through integration of disciplines a student could, for example, examine how the behaviour of people under surveillance or stress conditions could affect their biometric data; students focus initially on the social sciences and biometrics, then explore a portfolio of technical computing methods available for identity management and crime investigation, involving digital forensics, crime mapping and data analysis; following the taught part of the course, students undertake a dissertation as an integrated research project; this is well supported by the research-led component of the taught modules and gives the opportunity to explore the course�s interdisciplinary boundary further in a contemporary issue.
