Course summary This course offers an insight into the theory and practice of various forms of journalism in a globalised context; the aim is to prepare students to assess, manage, produce and consume journalism (civic, entrepreneurial, professional) in a fast-changing, digital media environment with transient borders and to do so, in a thoughtful and self-reflexive manner; this courses stresses theory and practice equally; as such, it will strive not only to equip students with the fundamental skills needed to gather and produce international news stories for a regional, national or global online audience, but to do so with an understanding of the role of journalism in civil societies, aware of the surrounding ethical, legal and moral issues.
